Rabbis of London came out with protest against the performance of Avraham Fried called 'Kumzitz' and scheduled for this Thursday, and call on all the haredi community, especially avrechim and yeshiva students who are on vacation of bein hazmanim, to stay away from it.
Rabbi Yosef Binyamin Vozner, Rav of Kehillas Yitav Lev Satmar, writes in his letter:
"And here I was horrified to see the devil's emissaries stabbing their filthy nails into the G-d fearing public here in London the capital. I saw an ad calling on the public of avrechim and bochurim to come attend on this Thursday night 4th of Nissan, where they would will join an non-kosher gathering... called Kumzitz, under the name 'The campfire continues."
Rabbi Vozner emphasizes that the Eida Haredis, his grandfather Hgr"s Vozner and all Gedolei Yisroel from all factions, have come out against "this danger. This is prohibited by halacha, according to chinuch and hanhaga and this page is too short to write about all the reasons."
The angry letter turns the public attention to the fact that "I can attest that all those who participated in these gatherings, lost any spark of yiras shamayim they had, and a great deal have fallen into the net of impurity and there is no room to write them all down."
Rabbi Vozner emphasizes that even if the show is designed for avrechim and yeshiva boys only, the participation is prohibited "with an absolute and severe prohibition". Later he warns that no one will dare to participate in the show "and everyone who participates removes himself from the community and parents and Torah teachers should warn the offspring to stay away from that place".
Even Rabbi Zvi Nehemiah Halevy Shank, Dayan of Kehal Yitav Lev Satmar and More Tzedek at the Association of haredi communities, warned in a letter of his own, that all the Gedolim have come out against such shows, "and of this like David Hamelech said, "uvemoshav letzim lo yashav".
Rabbi Shank requires that parents look after their children whose foot should not tread in this gathering, and instead he offers an alternative to "increase learning the laws of the holiday, bedikas chometz and story of yetzias Mitzrayim and the laws of Korban Pesach."
