Malchei Yisrael: Vehicle swerved and hit pedestrians

An accident occurred today (Sunday) afternoon in Geula: A car swerved from the road, hit pedestrians, and halted at the security fence on the sidewalk.


The accident occurred on the corner of Malchei Yisrael and Yosef Ben Matityahu, the vehicle which deviated from its course for an unknown reason, and hit a group of pedestrians.


Hatzalah volunteer medics gave medical treatment to the pedestrian who was injured moderately and a slightly injured child. The driver was not injured.


Chezi Roth, a Hatzalah paramedic who works near the location of the accident, said: "When I got to the scene I saw that the car - for some obscure reason off course - hit a group of pedestrians, and miraculously stopped at a safety fence - which prevented the result being more difficult. The woman sustained head injury and was evacuated after initial medical treatment to the hospital in moderate condition, a child was also hurt at the scene - his condition was defined mild."
