Fireman Impressed: Boy Apologizes

Ofer Azulai, a fireman in Moshav Mattisyahu was surprised by unexpected visitors last Thursday. A father and his 12 year old son from Modiin Illit had come to apologize.

Ofer told Bechadrey," I was sitting with my friend on the porch outside the station when we saw a father and son approaching. I thought that perhaps they were lost , but they came up to me and the boy handed me the following letter. I began to read and was very moved by the idea of a 12 year old boy showing such maturity. He showed a lot of bravery and I could tell he was sincere.

The letter read as follows:
Lchvod the firemen shalom,
I apologize and ask forgiveness for throwing stones. In truth I didn't mean to throw them at you and In fact I did throw them at a distance far way from you. I did not realize that I was disturbing your work. But I have thought about it and I am very remorseful. I ask your forgiveness.

Ofer continues," I told him to pass on the message to other children. Even if a child makes a mistake- it's good that comes to apologize. All we are trying to do is save lives.
