Holiday village, popular within the Orthodox Jewish community in England, forbade the lighting of candles in the territory.
The university used to turn its boarding houses into an orthodox resort village. But the resort management decided this year to sign the orthodox resort manager's on the prohibition of lighting candles.
Families come every year to the holiday village from Manchester, London, the U.S. and Israel.
One of the orthodox resort organizers said that she is very disappointed by the resort management decision. Later, she continued: "Last year, at the end of the vacation season, the village administration announced that it opposes lighting candles in the village due to a fire that broke out on a Shabbos, but we increased caution when lighting candles."
Unexpected source of aid comes to the ultra-Orthodox families in the form of chairman of the businesses in the area, who also turned to the resort's management and asked to cancel the decision, arguing that Orthodox vacationers sent funds to business owners in the area.
But the management does not give in and families will have to find an exchange place.
